The Prison Industries Garment Plant is operated by inmate workers who are supervised by staff from the Penitentiary and Kentucky Correctional Industries. This inmate work assignment is typical of factory employment within the community. Approximately 90 inmates perform various duties, ranging from the cutting of materials, to sewing the actual garments, to packaging the product for delivery. The Garment Plant makes all uniforms worn by the inmates within the custody of the Department of Corrections.
